Our Initiatives
Rangers Fund (Since 2014)
Our Rangers Fund programme was first introduced aiming to raise funds to support the welfare of Thai forest rangers and their families as well as to raise awareness about their important and sometimes dangerous work in protecting the country’s nature and biodiversity.
Since 2016, the Rangers Fund has begun a partnership with Freeland Foundation to support the Surviving Together programme with a project “Protecting the Protectors”. Funds raised are used to purchase equipment such as compasses and communication equipment for the rangers from the Hasadin Rapid Response Unit to protect Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The equipment helps to improve the ability of this unit to conduct counter-poaching patrols and secure this important landscape effectively and safely.

Plan BEE Rural Beekeeping (Since 2013)
This strategic community programme is designed to engage local low-income communities to help protect the Asian honeybee (Apis Cerena) against the threat of extinction and earn a supplementary income from the honey. Each year a new community is provided training and start-up tools. The honey harvested is also sourced by Oriental Residence Bangkok and sister brands for restaurant and spa operations.
Plan BEE Honey is also available for purchase. Funds raised from the sale goes to help sustain the project in the following year.
Fin Free (Since 2013)
Part of the global shark 'fin free' conservation movement, Fin Free Thailand is a nation-wide campaign to raise awareness on the serious health risks associated with consuming shark fin and the environmental impacts of harvesting
Hotels participating in the campaign are included in a Blue List and lead the way for others to improve their policies on sourcing sustainable seafood.

ChildSafe(Since 2016)
Created in 2005, the ChildSafe Movement sets to protect children and youths from all forms of abuse and prevention from engaging in dangerous behaviours while influencing all tiers of society to create a positive environment.
We proudly entered a collaboration agreement with Friends-International in 2016 for all our properties in Thailand to become a supporter of the movement, a practice in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
